Product Review
It is suggested that you study Volumes 1, 2, 3 as a prerequisite training.
VOLUME FOUR
From volume three one now learns target practice to attack the chin and solar plexus as the mor shu, gwak shu, and foun shu defensive hands are used to control the centerline. One step, three step, and nine step partner training teaches single, double and triple punching with defensive hands and fundamental stepping. Attacking (and defense) is taught one step-one strike and one step-three strikes target practice.
VOLUME FIVE
From volume four, you now put together the basic target practice of single, double and triple striking with the basic centerline defense skills, mor shu, gwak shu, and choc shu to train offensive and defensive "chi sao" or sticky hand. First, 4 count sticky hand teaches the ability not to blink when being hit using mor, gwak and choc (foun) shu; next, 2 count sticky hand mor, gwak, foun teaches to defend and attack sticking with the opponent in movement using both inside and outside the gate, and double bridge. This training culminates in the fundamental sticky hand set one.
VOLUME SIX
From volume five, one next practices loosening the 3 hands of the mantis arm with "second and third power circling;" then the 10 elbow strokes are taught to shorten the in-fighting; next after having trained in the previous volumes single defense and offense, one now learns to defend and attack with the same hand in one motion, fixed and stepping; followed by simultaneous centerline defense (mor, gwak, foun) and attack with the opposite hand both static and stepping. Turning power and speed of the basic centerline skills is then further refined by the 3 star hooking hands exercise.
