Asure Blue Sage is a 2' to 5' tall native perennial with a native range mostly in the Southeast; however, there are similar varieties of this species growing further west and north. This plant features whorls of large two-lipped azure blue flowers in long spikes atop stiff branches. With regular moisture and deadheading this plant will repeat flowering. This plant grows best in dry to medium moisture soils with good drainage and needs full sun sites. This is a great garden plant used in borders, native plant gardens, and wildflower meadows. The showy blue flowers attract butterflies and it is recommended for pollinator conservation seed mixes.
