A low-budget B-movie is transformed into a chilling noir masterpiece through the stylish direction of Joseph H. Lewis (Gun Crazy, 1950) and highlighted by superb performances by Nina Foch, Dame May Whitty and George Macready. Tension mounts as the court day approaches and Sherry begins to fear for her life despite 24-hour police protection in her sequestered apartment.
