In recognition of the 50th anniversary of Hindemith's death, this recording includes his most important works: Mathis der Maler, Nobilissima Visione, der Schwanendreher, Pittsburg Symphony, Trauermusik and Symphonic Metamorphosis. The performances are all given by native and experienced Hindemith interpreters, in fine studio recordings from the 1970s.
