The true home of the Renaissance, Florence is famous worldwide for being a treasure trove of art and culture. The city’s attractions bring its history as the birthplace of the Renaissance truly to life, and the city’s squares or piazzas almost seethe with the past. Visitors today can experience firsthand the wonders of both art and architecture that inspired the people of the Renaissance to attempt to recreate the civilization of ancient times.

To simply look and take in the beauty of Florentine painting and sculpture, as well as admire the elegance of its architecture, is more than enough for most, but not for the true fan of history.
