Have peace of mind and leave your windows open without fear of accidents with Prime-Line’s S 4770 Fixed Steel Window Guard. The perfect addition to any high-rise apartment building or multi-story home, this 4-bar steel fixed window guard can be used to prevent small children and pets from accidental falls through open windows. This non-egress fixed window guard cannot be opened or easily removed in the event of an emergency where entry or exit through the window would be required. For this reason, THIS FIXED WINDOW GUARD SHOULD NOT BE USED IN BEDROOMS OR SLEEPING QUARTERS WHERE NO OTHER EMERGENCY EXIT IS ACCESSIBLE. For windows requiring emergency access capabilities, use an appropriate hinged version window guard, like Prime-Line S 4779.

Easily adjust the width of the window guard from 31” to 54” before it’s mounted to the inside window jamb or over the interior casing. It has a fixed height of 21” and is constructed of .048 thick, plain carbon steel square tubing with 3-7/8” bar spacing and a bronze painted finish. Installation is easy and the window guard comes with one-way, tamper-proof installation screws. The window guard is not for use on horizontal sliding windows or hinged casement type windows.

This child fall window guard meets New York City, New Jersey and Oregon Home Builders Association health and safety building codes. It was approved by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, HDWG #04-09-2010, but it does not meet egress.
