Trinitite was created during a Nuclear test blast. It's a result of the intense heat melting the sand into a lightly green tinted glass. Named for the Tinitity Bomb testing in New Mexico on July 16, 1945, samples of Trinitite are extremely rare; All but a small sample of the material was buried and made illegal to remove from the site in 1952. Our Trinitite sample is enclosed in a 4" x 5" plastic box frame as shown above suitable for display. Shipping Information: We are always in compliance with Section 13 from part 40 of the NRC Nuclear Regulatory Commission rules and regulations and Postal Service regulations specified in 49 CFR 173.421 for activity limits of low level radioactive materials.
