Candelilla (pronounced can-dah-LEE-yah) wax comes from a desert plant native to northeast Mexico. The Candelilla plant produces a scale-like covering to protect it from the ravages of the desert. This covering is the wax, a hard wax of excellent quality often found in lipstick, lip balm, lotion and hand cream formulas.
