This part is required in ADDITION to GROM Audio adapter to make the regular packages work in a BMW vehicle with DSP.
Will work for other aftermarket kits for BMW as well.
Vehicles with DSP as an option:
1997-2003 5-series;
2004-2009 X3:
2000-2006 X5;
2003-2009 Z4.
Vehicles with DSP as standard equipment:
09/1998-2001 7series;
2000-2003 M5:
2000-2003 Z8.
- You will need this part if your BMW stereo is equipped with DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and you want to install one of the aftermarket car audio integration adapters such as GROM Audio car kit or any other aftermarket integration adapters.
- The GROM BMW DSP Converter Kit converts the analog sound from your aftermarket integration adapter to the digital.
- Not all DSP radios have the coaxial connection in the trunk. Some have the standard 6 pin connection and do not require this interface.
- Compatible with BMW vehicles with DSP as an option include: 1997-2003 5-series; 2004-2009 X3: 2000-2006 X5; 2003-2009 Z4. Compatible with BMW vehicles with DSP as standard equipment: 09/1998-2001 7-series; 2000-2003 M5: 2000-2003 Z8.
