ABOUT THE VIDEO: When you start out or resume ballet classes as an adult, you often find yourself unable to keep up with the center exercises because on-going students know what to do and you don't-which is why we made this video. Finis Jhung shows you-count by count-how to shape and move your arms and hands with amplified grace and elegance; how to find and display the correct arabesque line and how to balance the piqué pose; how to work the feet quickly while maintain proper positioning in coupé; and how to waltz in various directions and positions. Each exercise has two parts-instruction and demonstration-and is shown moving to both right and left by Sachiko Kanai. EXERCISES: Port de bras - 1. Moving & shaping the arms & hands. Arabesque - 1. The first arabesque; 2. Piqué en arabesque at the barre; 3. Piqué en arabesque en diagonal; 4. Piqué, relevé en arabesque en diagonal. Coupé - 1. Coupé dessus; 2. Coupé dessous; 3. Coupé dessus, dessous; 4. Coupé dessus, dessous en diagonal, tombé, pas de bourrée. Pas de valse - 1. Pas de valse de côte, temps lié; 2. Pas de valse en avant, temps lié; 3. Pas de valse en arrière, pas marché; 4. Pas de valse en avant, en tournant, piqué arabesque. SPECIAL FEATURE: Play the DVD in 3 modes: Full Class, Individual Exercises or Workout Mode where you can run the exercises without instruction. Once you've learned the exercise and heard the instructions, you may want to go straight to the demonstration with music so you can have a workout without interruption.
