Celebrating the Advent season is a lovely way to prepare for Christmas. When I was growing up in Southern California, my German parents taught us the Advent traditions as they celebrated them. Special Cookies like Zimt Sterne, extra celebrations like Advents Fruhstuck, and lots of singing songs like "Leise Rieselt der Schnee." Add to this beautiful candlelight, and wonderful German Decorations, and you have a very special time. My memories are still strong, even all these years later.
