Product Review
Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) is a tough, drought tolerant, perennial shrub reaching up to 15 feet. The branches are lance-like and covered with thorns and have alternate silver narrow leaves. The bright orange berries grow close to the branch in clusters and are packed full of vitamins. Used for centuries in Asia as a medicinal plant. The juice from the berries has been described as a mix between orange and passion fruit! Great for hillside erosion, a forbidding screen hedge, and soil improvement. The deep taproots put Nitrogen into the soil and the berries feed wildlife in winter. Grows best in Full Sun, tolerates sea winds. Zones: 3-9. Seeds are stored in environmental conditions that promote seed life (Dark/Dry/Cool). Plant with confidence! Sea Buckthorn Berry Photo courtesy of Karunakar Rayker
