Vanessa Redgrave stars in this scorching motion picture version of Tennessee Williams' classic Orpheus Descending. Lady Torrance (Redgrave) lives a loveless life in a boring southern town – until Val (Kevin Anderson), a handsome young stranger in a snakeskin jacket, brings out her long-forgotten sexual passion. While they give in to their forbidden desire, Lady's tyrannical husband lies dying.
