Neither Bach nor Albinoni, Telemann, Handel or Vivaldi could ever have imagined the breathtaking acrobatics, depth of expression or lyricism that Gábor Tarkövi, the Hungarian star trumpeter of the Berlin Philharmonic, is able to coax from his different trumpets.
