Hula (Clara Bow), the free-spirited daughter of Hawaiian rancher and landowner Old Bill Calhoun, is just coming of age and the first man too catch her eye is the handsome Anthony Haldane (Clive Brook), a British Engineer contracted by her father to build a new irrigation dam. Hula competes fiercely for Anthony's attention but is crushed when she learns he is trapped in a loveless marriage and cannot be hers.
