Q&A:
1.Is it strong?
A: They are leather and cannot be broken if you pull hard. You need a good scissors to cut them because they are strong.
2.can it get ripped?
A: No, unless of course you put it under undue stress. I make leather wrap bracelets out of it and I am still wearing my very first ones I made about 6 months ago. However if you tie it and untie it several times like if you made a mistake or want to move said knot . . it does begin to deteriorate. Just don't keep untying it.
