Becca and Kade are about to be seniors in high school and can't wait to have the best year of their lives.

Cynthia, Kade's mom and Becca's nanny since age two, is going back to Mexico because money is running low. Becca's family agrees to take Kade in for a year, so he can finish up his last year of high school. What Cynthia and Becca's parents don't know, though, is that Becca and Kade have lots of history, and not necessarily the good kind.

With senior year fast approaching, Kade moves into the room just across the hall from Becca. Expecting to ignore her for the whole year, Kade is shocked when he finds himself comforting her every night when Becca wakes up screaming, swearing a guy named Henry comes into her room and tries to take her, even though no one is ever really there.

Becca is hiding some very dark secrets from everyone. Everyone in school thinks she has the perfect life. In reality, she's falling apart because her best friend is abusing her.

In the middle of it all, Becca finds herself falling for the boy she kissed one time when they were thirteen. This time, he's living in her house, and she's not sure she can resist the attraction.
