This is a very simple all in one A4 board that helps individuals to recognize what is, and is not, appropriate behavior. It uses 8 common behaviors, both positive and negative, and serves as a visual reminder to the individual, without the need for verbal intervention. The use of positive behaviors on the chart as well as negative helps with positive reinforcement and means that behavior rules are not reduced to a series of restrictions on what the individual can do, something that can cause anxieties and behaviors. this can be used as a first step in getting the individual to understand the expectations on them, and for them to take responsibility for modifying their behavior according to social demands. This is something that someone with ASD can struggle to do, and this board is a useful first step in that journey. this product, like all our products, was inspired by some of the difficulties we have gone through in raising our own autistic son over the years, and includes a lot of strategies that have helped him to cope with some of the challenges life can bring.
