By pushing down the switch it momentarily kills the sound to create a stuttering or so-called "machine gun" sound effect. When the button is released it will restore the sound instantly. Easy to install, just wire one side to the negative and one side to the positive of the guitar output jack. The mounting cut hole needed is 19mm or 3/4".
