If you're thinking of moving up to 11 speeds, the Shimano drivetrain gives you reliability and shifting prowess. Its XTR SL-M9000 Trigger Shifters perfectly complement the derailleurs for a fuss-proof shifting system. While the primary aesthetics of the XTR triggers remain largely unchanged from the last XTR model, the materials have changed a bit. The thumb shifter is now carbon fiber and the trigger is coated with a textured finish to increase grip. The internals received a bit more of a makeover. Using VIVID index, each shift is reduced in effort by nearly 20 percent, while at the same time the shift action itself feels more positive. Ball bearings are used as guides and polymer-coated ultra-low-friction cables have been added. So that you're able to configure your shifting exactly the way you like it, the shifters are sold separately in either left or right hand versions.
