There's all sorts of terrain out there, but the Inov 8 Roclite 280 Standard Fit Men's Trail Running Shoe can conquer all of them, with a deep-treaded RocLite sticky rubber sole and supportive Meta-Shank II insert. The Roclite isn't some huge maximalist shoe, but it does have plenty of cushioning, courtesy of an EVA midsole, foam footbed, and 25mm of heel height that provides a 9mm drop to achieve a great balance of support and efficient motion. There are even gaiter pockets, making it easy to attach Inov 8 Race Ultra gaiters and keep debris from sneaking into your shoes.
