The flowers are excellent for cutting. It's grassy leaves remain green in color throughout the season. This is a relatively low maintenance perennial, and is best cleaned up in early spring before it resumes active growth for the season. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies to your yard. This perennial does best in full sun to partial shade. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist locations. Barbara Mitchell is rabbit resistant, attracts butterflies, hot dry site tolerant, attracts hummingbirds, seaside/salt tolerant, blooms for 4 weeks or more, great for a sunny spot.
