About Waboba

Back in the 80's, Jan von Heland was enjoying summer with his family at the beach in Sweden. He was doing what most people did for fun - standing waist deep in the water throwing a flying disk to one another. Except when he threw a frisbee upside down by accident, he noticed it skimmed across the surface like a stone. A lightbulb went off and he thought how much more fun it would be to play with a product that used the water's surface to bounce.

Fast forward to the early 2000s when his idea finally came to fruition after lots of dreams, research, development, and tests. Although the first ball ever made did indeed bounce on water, it sank. But he never gave up until it floated properly. So it wasn't until 2005 that the masterpiece also known as The Waboba Ball was finally born and ready to bounce around the world, turning human beings and dogs into Waboba addicts also known as Wabobians.

Even though Waboba first began as, "The ball that bounces on water", we soon realized millions of Wabobians would go through withdrawal if they didn't have something fun to play with on land too. So we created the Street, Moon, and Flyer to keep the obsession going strong - with many other items joining the Waboba family every year for both land and water since then.

Nowadays, Waboba has grown to become a lifestyle about having fun, being outside, going on adventures, embracing your inner child, refusing to grow up, staying active, letting loose and enjoying time with family and friends in the most simplest form. All you need is a ball! Anytime. Anywhere.
