The Soft-stretch Black Hood has been embraced by people who work outdoors for extended periods. Its black pigments and dense fiber-web structure provide UV protection in addition to its superior effectiveness of shielding against airborne debris. In contrast, the conventional balaclava having porous knitted structure allows the UV light to pass through the spaces between yarns, especially in stretched form.

The soft-stretch hood can be worn under or over a balaclava to achieve both the barrier protection and keeping warmth in cold temperatures.

The Soft-stretch Hood can be worn independently, over a mask, in conjunction with a respirator, or as a liner under a hardhat, helmet, or faceshield. The open-face design gives the flexibility of covering chin, or mouth and chin to accommodate an air-fed full-face respirator.
