Dragon's Blood (Croton lechleri) is a natural plant gum coming from \ several different trees, this one is from Peru and comes from the Dragon tree known as Croton lechleri. It has been used in traditional chinese medicine for years. It is a resinous dark red compound which has been used to assist many ailments. These ailments include topical wound and skin healing due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. Because of these compounds, it has also been used for swollen gums, skin treatment for anti-aging and acne and scar healing. It is most commonly used topically, however studies have been done to prove its effectiveness in calming digestive upsets. Also, due to the deep red color, it has been used as a dye and to varnish certain instruments!
