A wicking bed is a type of raised bed garden that waters plants from underneath the roots rather than on top. The water wicks up from an underground water reservoir resulting in improved production while minimizing water usage. During a typical hot summer, a regular raised bed may need to be watered two or three times a day. With a wicking bed, watering is generally required only once every two or three weeks!
