Product Review
A classic among carrots, Scarlet Nantes has that old-time carrot flavor. Bright red-orange flesh with fine grain and almost no core. Roots are 6-7" with blunt tips and small to medium tops. Not as refined as modern hybrids but a great choice for the garden. High moisture content make this a natural for juicing; fine for bunching or storage. Originally from France but grown in this country for many decades. A good sort to try on heavier soils. Sow seeds outdoors 3-4 weeks before last spring frost or as soon as soil can be worked. Tamp soil firmly; keep bed moist until emergence.
