Grow "Spotted Bee Balm" from fresh Monarda punctata seeds. Spotted Bee Balm flowers are gorgeous plants that will attract an array of beneficial insects to the garden. They grow to a mature height of about 12 to 36 inches tall and need little attention once established. Monarda punctata is categorized as a perennial that is native to much of the eastern and midwestern United States. The flowers appear creamy white, and have accents of purple above and below their blooms. Spotted Bee Balm, also known as "Horsemint" prefers an area that is average to dry. It is very forgiving of drought and enjoys an area of sunlight. Great when used in a butterfly garden, as a border plant, or even in a natural setting or meadow.
