Product Review
Grow "Wild Blue Indigo" from fresh Baptisia australis flower seeds. Wild Blue Indigo is widely used as an ornamental for indoor flower gardens or as a decorative border plant. It has become very popular as it requires little to no care once established. Categorized as a perennial, deep rooted legume it grows quickly, blooms heavily, dies with the first frost and later returns the following year from deep roots. Mature plants will rise up and stand stout at a height of 3 feet to 5 feet tall from a branch style root system. The flowers of Wild Blue Indigo are hermaphroditic, are around 1 inch wide and range in color from light blue to deep purple. The fruits are hardened 3 inch pods that produce many loose seeds within.
