TROPICA - Common Lantana (Lantana camara) - 30 Seeds
Worth knowing: The Common Lantana is one of the most popular tub plants since it flowers nearly 6 to 7 months. It can be kept at any height and shape by pruning.
Origin: Originally native in Tropical America, Hawaii and West India, the Common Lantana, because of its flowering splendour, can nowadays be seen everywhere.
Propagation: Seeds can be started indoors any time throughout the year. Soak the round, black seeds in water at room temperature for about 12 hours, first. Plant the seeds 1 cm deep in moist seed starting soil. Provided an even humidity and warmth (20° to 25°C), the seeds should germinate after 4 to 8 weeks.
Place / Light: A full-sunny place is ideal.
Care: Use standard soil for tub cultivation and water a lot and regularly; otherwise the flowers will wilt. The root bales must not dry out. Because of its lush flowering, the plant has a high need for nutrients. Therefore, supply the Common Lantana with tub plant fertilizer weekly from April until October.
Winter period: The plant should not be exposed to frost and be placed in a bright location with temperatures of 5° to 10°C. You may also prune the Lantana extensively, let the plant defoliate itself and place it relatively dark. You should then, however, water less. The Common Lantana has to be re-potted every 2 years.
Bonsai Suitability: Yes
