What Weight Glove Should I Select?

The greater the weight of a glove the more padding it has.

* Lighter weight gloves are better for speed and technical work. The lower weight means you will get less tired and can train for longer.
* Heavier weight gloves have more padding and therefore provide better protection for your hands.

Select gloves based your hitting power and training type:

* Lighter gloves allow you to move faster. If you want to train for speed or technique, lighter gloves are better. Selecting too high a weight it will tire you out when training so lighter gloves can be better for smaller people.
* If you hit hard and are making heavy contact (eg. heavy sparring, bag work, or powerful hitters) you should protect your hands with heavier more padded gloves.
