For the longest lasting edge use Polish tapes to create an ultra high mirror like finish. They require a "polish tape blank" - aluminum mounting blanks are available. The tapes have their own adhesive backing. Polish tapes can be used approximately 5 times before they need to be replaced depending on the amount of work done on each blade. This tape is 3 micron.
