The GSM is the greatest indicator for the quality of a blanket, and most products stand only at around 250 GSM. Also, unlike products that use inferior dyes - an important component that affects the quality and longevity of the product - ours is sourced from Germany and applied during the production in China, which makes it naturally anti-static and highly resistant to shedding. You do NOT need to wash this before for fear that the static will pick up any unwanted animal furs or debris. Overall, it's a year-round, quality blanket at a reasonable price.
