This fast paced, entertaining card game accelerates your language learning. To learn to speak a language, we must actually speak the language. But how do you speak the language if you don't already know it? Language learning research supports that people learn best in an immersive language learning environment, learning grammar and vocabulary by inferring patterns from the language we hear. One of the biggest hurdles that we face as new language learners is to be brave enough to start speaking when we know very little and may feel uncertain about the true meaning of the words we speak.
The goal of the game is to move all of the cards from the center stack to the "Entiendo" (I understand) pile. A team can achieve a perfect game when every player can remember how to say a phrase based on seeing it demonstrated or hearing hints in Spanish. Each game consists of two rounds, a learning (¡DÃgame!) round and a challenge round.
The game has two decks: the starter deck works for people who have no experience with the language or limited speaking confidence, and level 1 requires some knowledge of Spanish to be able to convey the meaning of the phrases or guess them by asking questions. The game provides an easy and fun way to immerse a group in hearing and speaking Spanish, providing a great way to learn the language, expand your vocabulary, and get more comfortable speaking. It's also fun for mixed-level groups.
