Our more popular culture mediums include Guillard's F/2 (including reduced nitrogen) which is used for many open and coastal water strains of microalgae including Nannochloropsis oculata and Isochrysis galbana, and Zarrouk's SM, SMM and RM6 mediums designed for Arthrospira platensis (Spirulina).

Zarrouk's Spirulina Medium is one of the oldest and proven mediums designed for growing different microalgae strains of Arthrospira (Spirulina) genus. Using this medium you can achieve high biomass production, better β-carotene synthesis and increased antioxidant potential of all Arthrospira strains.

Note
f/2 medium, which is commonly used in cultivation of marine microalgae, is not an acceptable medium for Spirulina as it produces nutritionally deficient cultures.

Ingredients
Zarrouk's SM growth medium without sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and salt.

Directions
Follow instructions included with the medium. Failure to read included instructions may lead to nutritionally deficient culture or a culture crash (death). To make working spirulina medium combine contents of the bottle with indicated amount of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and common table salt.

Storage
Keep in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
