In the not so distant future sixteen year old Maya lives in paradise. The last inhabitable place on Earth that is protected by a group of people referred to only as, the Watchers.

But Maya soon learns that her home is not all that it seems and a dark secret lies within the boundaries of the world she has loved since the day she was born.

The day of the Ascension Ceremony is coming soon and should be marked by joyous celebrations, but instead Maya is forced to fight to gain her freedom.
