For the first time in his spectacular, historic career, PLÁCIDO DOMINGO records as a baritone on VERDI, an album of the composer s most beloved baritone arias. Having performed and recorded all of Verdi s great tenor arias, Domingo is excited to explore the darker characters from Verdi s most famous operas including Rigoletto, La traviata, Don Carlo, and more. Starting in 2009, Domingo first performed as a baritone in the title role in Simon Boccanegra at the Royal Opera House in London and repeated the role to great acclaim at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. That was soon followed by roles as Rigoletto, Francesco Foscari in I due Foscari and Giorgio Germont in La Traviata.

He has won twelve Grammy® Awards and his recordings and appearances with José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti as The Three Tenors was one of the most successful musical partnerships of all time.
