The Cessna 172 is the most successful mass produced aircraft in history, with the Skyhawk being the name of the deluxe model.  Cessna's 172 series is a-4 seat high fixed-wing plane with fixed landing gear and a single, two-blade propeller.  A light aircraft, it is very popular with private users and small companies.  The 172 series is frequently used for training purposes as it is an easy to fly, and forgiving aircraft.  First sold in 1955, the Cessna 172 continues to be produced today in many variants.
