This is the original "Goot" Desoldering Wick

"Goot" Desoldering braid/wick removes solder quickly and easily. Just press the braid onto the soldered connection with a hot soldering iron and the solder wicks up into the braid.

Solder removal is all about technique and patience. Make sure your soldering iron is hot enough. Test it by applying solder wire to the soldering iron tip and ensure it is hot enough to easily melt the solder. Adding a little solder to the joint greatly improves solder absorption onto the wick.
