The BLACK+DECKER LST540 40v Brushless String Trimmer features Brushless Motor Technology which provides more power and 30% longer runtime. It has a high performance 40V MAX lithium ion battery with state of charge indicator to show battery charge level. The POWERDRIVE Transmission delivers more power from the motor to the cutting string so you can get the job done faster. It also offers an Automatic Feed Spool - AFS(R) which automatically feeds trimmer line with no bumping required. A variable speed trigger allows for control over power and runtime and this trimmer has a wide 13 inch cutting swath which cuts a large area per pass. This trimmer easily converts from a trimmer to an edger with the push of a button. A telescoping aluminum pole with quick release allows you to adjust quickly for optimal cutting position. Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 40V - Nominal voltage is 36.
