This puzzle, utilizing equipment used in the sport of cricket, can be traced back to a puzzle patented in England back in 1898. The world's only remaining original version of this puzzle is part of the personal collection of my close British friend, James Dalgety. James was kind enough to lend his hand in the creation of a Cast Puzzle version. The key word is "gates." -NOB 2002.
