Originally Bundt Cakes came from Germany, Austria and Hungary. In 195, H. David Malmquist, founder of the cookware company Nordic Ware, began making Bundt Cake pans in the U.S. In 1956, at a Pillsbury sponsored contest, the Bundt Cake won 2nd place, making it an American favorite.
