Josiah Pike, captured by the Sioux! A novel, but also an in depth look into the western wilds and the life of the tribes. Terry Grosz has an extensive background in the wilds of the West, as a California Fish and Wildlife warden and later a U. S. Fish and Wildlife agent, serving from California to North Dakota. His contact and interaction with the tribes of the West, gives him in-depth knowledge of Indian life, and he passes that along in Josiah Pike. The book is a novel, but written in a style that not only entertains but educates. It’s dense with tribal life, yet vibrant and compelling as Pike is captured then taken to the bosom of the Sioux.
