Product Review
Good choice for women who experience low milk production from the start of your breastfeeding journey. Goat's rue is the herb of choice for women with IGT (Insufficient Glandular Tissue), and for women with previous breast surgeries, such as reductions or augmentations.
Goat's Rue is a powerful herb for stimulating milk production and increasing the flow of breast milk. It has been shown to increase milk production by 50% in many cases, and may also stimulate the development of the mammary glands themselves.
When taken in large amounts, this herb also helps to reduce blood sugar and is therefore not recommended for use by insulin-dependent diabetics. This herb is safe for use during pregnancy.
The non-alcohol variety is in a vegetable glycerine base that is sweeter than the alcohol base.
Dosage suggestions: start with 2 droppersful (squeezes) of the tincture three times a day.
Results should be seen within 12-24 hours. If desired results are not achieved with this amount, you may increase the frequency (increase to 4 times a day, and then 5 and so on.)
Some moms take two droppersful each time they sit down to nurse or pump, which is fine. If too much is taken, over-fullness or engorgement may result. If so, simply reduce the amount of herbs taken until the right balance is found for you.
