The sharpener has a ceramic wheel that with regular, quick sharpening sessions will keep your knives looking as good as the day you bought them. The ceramic wheel is specially designed to match the blade angle specifications for your Hammer Stahl knives. To use draw the blade between the ceramic wheels a few times regularly to maintain a fine edge. Honing oil is not required to maintain a fine, sharpened edge.
