The Bible teaches that we have a new nature, born of the Spirit, and hidden with Christ in God. The scriptures teach that because our new nature is born of God, we cannot sin (referring to the inner man), we are sanctified, and we have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. If this is true, why do we struggle to rise above our temptations and weaknesses?

We struggle when we try to live through the flesh, but we are victorious when we walk in the Spirit. Our promises include, walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, this is the victory that overcomes the world – our faith, and if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Until we understand what it means to walk in the Spirit, the Christian life will be a rollercoaster ride, filled with disappointment and frustration.

This second book on the Founded Upon Grace series continues to build upon the foundation of Christ. We first looked at how Christ defeated sin, now we’ll look at how we live according to the Spirit. The flesh cannot produce righteousness for the Spirit, but the Spirit will produce righteousness in our outward life. May this book be a tool of your journey of walking by faith in the Spirit.
