Verdenier, VT, resident Allie Griffin is back. This time, an enigmatic message passed along to Allie in a bar sets her off on an investigation that will lead into dangerous territory. Soon, millionaire housewife Honey Reilly is found dead, apparently bludgeoned to death in her own kitchen.

Once again, Allie Griffin is on the case. One slight problem: No murder weapon has been found.

To make matters worse, the investigation into Honey Reilly's death has been called off. Allie's crush, ruggedly handsome Sgt. Frank Beauchenne, gives her valuable tips to solve the crime. With the help of her best friend, Del Collins, Allie's investigation will lead her on a paper chase uncovering jealousy, blackmail, and a possible conspiracy more sinister than she could imagine.
