Using these oils on the hair has a stabilizing effect on the nervous system, helping to relieve stress and anxiety! PLEASE NOTE: THIS PRODUCT IS SULFATE FREE!!! Some people confuse Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA) and Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate (DLS) with sulfates. However, they are NOT sulfates. What confuses people is that these ingredients sound similar so they mistakenly think they are similar. SLSA has an EWG risk rating of zero, the lowest risk rating! DLS has an EWG rating of 2- very low risk. Both are derived from coconut and palm oils and are considered safe, skin friendly cleansers that offer rich lather without the irritation potential of some of the other effective cleansers, mainly sulfates. SLSA and DLS remove oils and bacteria without irritating the skin. Sulfates are known to be harsh chemicals that not only damage certain hair types, but can penetrate follicle and pore openings causing skin irritation and other health issues. Sulfates are inexpensive and widely used in body care products. Contrary to SLS, SLSA and DLS are known to be much milder, natural cleansers that are hydrophilic- meaning they dissolve much quicker with water and rinses faster. These cleaners have a large molecular structure, so they don't penetrate the skin, or the mucous membranes, and do not cause the skin irritation like sulfates do. Unlike Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), these cleansers are completely safe for most skin types. They are known to be very gentle on the skin and hair, and are suitable for even more sensitive skin. They are especially suitable for baby shampoos and highly sensitive skin. Since it's not sulfated in production, it will be free of sulfates (the salt of sulfuric acid which is potentially harmful to the skin).
