In a dystopian Future Talis is a state of sadistic games, with real deaths on television. Duelist becomes a profession, and the show Samurai of the Year—a chance for its participants to get rich. Tanya is a professional duelist—a quick draw, whose katana ended hundreds of lives in private battles. Knowing her odds are good to end up on top, Tanya submits the form and is chosen to participate in the next games. All she has to do in order to be crowned and stay alive, is to defeat six out of 63 women in single combat.
