When presented with both her future self, and Klaus’s hunted daughter, Caroline takes the three year old and races for New Orleans and the protection of the Originals. But presenting Klaus with his daughter has its own challenges and it’s not long before Caroline is embarking on a trip across the country and beyond with a little girl that calls her “Mommy” and a lost and broken Original hybrid.

Hidden in the shadows, other players also engage in games of hide and seek. Witches, werewolves, vampires, and more fight to win and capture the prize, a little girl who might just be more than she appears.

As Caroline’s feelings for Klaus and his daughter grow, she fights an internal battle; whether to hold onto her memories of the cruel and calculating hybrid or give in to Klaus’s prophetic words and allow herself to take more than just a stolen afternoon of what she truly wants.
